Terms of Service

Effective date: July 9, 2026 · Latchpin Tax, LLC · Galveston County, Texas

1. What Latchpin is

Latchpin Tax, LLC ("Latchpin," "we," "us") sells a document-preparation and public-records research service. For a flat fee, we assemble a property tax protest packet — a comparable-properties workbook, a case summary, a Form 50-132 narrative, a §41.461 evidence-request letter, and a hearing script — for a single residential property in Galveston County, Texas. By purchasing a packet you agree to these Terms.

2. What Latchpin is not

Latchpin is not a licensed property tax consultant under Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1152, is not a law firm, and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. We do not represent you before the appraisal district or the Appraisal Review Board, do not file documents on your behalf, and do not sign or accept a Form 50-162 appointment of agent. You are the petitioner of record and present your own case.

Nothing in a packet is a substitute for the judgment of a licensed professional. If your situation is complex — commercial property, litigation, binding arbitration, or an appeal under Tax Code Chapter 42 — hire one.

3. Eligibility and scope

4. Your responsibilities

5. Deliverables and license

On payment and successful generation, we deliver your packet by email as a downloadable archive. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use the packet for the protest of the property it was generated for. You may share it with the ARB, the appraisal district, your own advisors, or your household. You may not resell it, republish it, or use it to provide services to third parties.

6. Data sources and accuracy

Packets are built from public records — primarily Galveston Central Appraisal District parcel data — as those records exist at the time of generation. Public records contain errors, and appraisal data changes during protest season. We make reasonable efforts to use current data but do not warrant that any figure in a packet matches the record on the day of your hearing.

7. No guarantee of outcome

Protest outcomes are decided by the appraisal district and the ARB, not by us. Roughly speaking, good evidence improves your odds; it does not determine them. We make no promise, express or implied, that your appraised value will be reduced or that you will save any amount of money.

8. Fees, payment, and refunds

Prices are stated on the site at the time of purchase and are charged in full, once, at checkout via Stripe. There are no subscriptions and no automatic renewals. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL DELIVERABLES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LATCHPIN'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE PACKET GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR TAXES, PENALTIES, OR INTEREST ASSESSED ON YOUR PROPERTY. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Latchpin against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or materials you file with any government body.

12. Termination

We may refuse or cancel an order that violates these Terms (with a full refund if the packet has not been delivered). You may stop using the service at any time; Sections 5–11 survive.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Galveston County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms; the version posted at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.

15. Contact
